How to Deposit Seeds for International Depositors
  1. The depositor must fill out a seed deposition request form and a seed list form, then send them to the person in charge (seedvault@koagi.or.kr) at Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault (BGSV). Both forms can be downloaded below.
  2. BGSV sends the depositor a container (Black Box System) for returning the seeds they wish to deposit to BGSV. Please refer to the following video clip on the guidelines for packaging the Black Box.
  3. The depositor obtains the Certificate of Quarantine issued by the country for the seeds to be sent to BGSV. The certificate must state that seeds subject to quarantine will be stored at BGSV for the purpose of biodiveristy conservation. The depositor sends a copy of the certificate to the person in charge at BGSV via email.
  4. The depositor seals the seed packaging container (Black Box) with a security label and sends it along with the original Certificate of Quarantine to the following address: 1st Floor, Animal & Plant Qurantine Service, 40-32 193 beon gil, Gonghangdong-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon, Republic of Korea (Postal code : 22381)
  5. After receiving the seeds, BGSV sends a receipt confirmation to the depositor.
